A lot of us are still trying to recover from last night’s game (Wednesday 27 August) played under lights at Petone Memorial Field against St Patrick’s Silverstream. It was a wonderful game of football to watch with St Pat’s Silverstream adopting a Spanish type of passing game and strangling us in the midfield but being unable to convert into points. We played more the German speed game feeding our very potent attacking weapons of Sashka Nicoresti-Goode and Ruairi Cahill-Fleury. It was a fast-paced, highly skilful display from both sides but High created more goal scoring opportunities. The final result was 2-1 in our favour. Goals were scored by Sashka and Josh Mann with an own goal their only contribution. Well done to all the boys and their coach Alex Rothman and support staff.
