This week we are delighted to feature more artwork from Year 10, Outdoor Education’s return to the water in search of the Little Blue Penguin and Āwhina, our homework club, hard at work in the Library. We celebrate success in Wellington regional debating and recognise the achievements of a student who has been awarded a youth mentorship space by the New Zealand Society of Authors. With reflections of lockdown in an international students vlog and our oldest alumna celebrating her 100th birthday, the wrap up is as diverse as ever.

Cafeteria goes contactless with mykindo

From Monday 18 May, WHS’s cafeteria will be using the mykindo app (or website www.mykindo.co.nz).  Orders can be placed through the app or website and the service is click and collect. EFTPOS machines will also be available in the cafeteria for the week commencing 18 May. Weekly Wrap Up (Weeks 3 & 4, Term 2)

This week’s wrap up includes an update from Dominic Killalea in relation to COVID-19, plus we farewell Art teacher Lou Wycherley who retired on 1 May. The Shakespeare Society have been rehearsing online and we share a special lockdown edition of Fresh Avocado. In addition, we follow the 48 hour Film Festival online, celebrate alumnus Jack Buchanan’s Lockdown Boogie success and introduce CSW’s esports competition. Also including information from Simply Dental about the services they are currently able to offer.

The Wrap Up is back! Including important information for supporting students wellbeing we also share results of the International Department homestay bubble positivity challenge. Students and staff share their creativity and success in Fashion and film making. With this, plus updates from alumni and a message to all from student leaders across Wellington schools, this Wrap Up is proof that although we are at Level 4 lockdown, there is much that is positive to celebrate.
