This week the Wrap Up travels to explore cuisines from different countries in Year 10 Food Technology. He Kākano have been cooking too and the horticulture garden has harvested six Māori potato cultivars. Away from food, we welcomed Olga Palmer for a lunchtime lecture on vaccination. We highlight the forthcoming E2E (Education to Employment) Day that will be held at WHS on 30 March and look forward to next week’s Neurodiversity Celebration week.

This week we report on Athletics Day, sharing news of records broken and our competitors for the forthcoming Western Zone Athletics competition. The summer senior ecology trip reports back and we hear from the Year 12 Zealandia trip, Year 13 Painted Word and He Kākano.

It’s the end of Week 4 and this week’s Wrap Up is abuzz with activity. We introduce Belinda Rynhart, WHS’s new Board chair. Then, from Year 10 Food Tech to Year 12 Painting and Year 13 Psychology a range of activity is on show. He Kākano report on this week’s AWD Athletics and the Library hosts its first lunchtime lecture.

This week we celebrate the Chinese and Lunar New Year with our international students and join some of our English Language students for lunch. Careers features Whitireia/Weltec Trades STAR taster courses and we also include information for our Papa Taiao leadership course.

We celebrate scholarship success this week, with outstanding results in Drama and Religious studies and success in many areas. We also celebrate achievements in rowing and follow He Kākano as students continue their orientation. Important information about school photos and ID cards is also included in this week’s wrap up.
