Weekly Wrap Up (Week 6, Term 1)

This week the Wrap Up travels to explore cuisines from different countries in Year 10 Food Technology. He Kākano have been cooking too and the horticulture garden has harvested six Māori potato cultivars. Away from food, we welcomed Olga Palmer for a lunchtime lecture on vaccination. We highlight the forthcoming E2E (Education to Employment) Day that will be held at WHS on 30 March and look forward to next week’s Neurodiversity Celebration week.

It’s the end of Week 4 and this week’s Wrap Up is abuzz with activity. We introduce Belinda Rynhart, WHS’s new Board chair. Then, from Year 10 Food Tech to Year 12 Painting and Year 13 Psychology a range of activity is on show. He Kākano report on this week’s AWD Athletics and the Library hosts its first lunchtime lecture.

We celebrate scholarship success this week, with outstanding results in Drama and Religious studies and success in many areas. We also celebrate achievements in rowing and follow He Kākano as students continue their orientation. Important information about school photos and ID cards is also included in this week’s wrap up.

Weekly Wrap Up (Term 4, Week 9)

In the final wrap up of the year, share Friday’s celebrations at Junior Prizgiving and enjoy the range of activities our Junior students undertook during the short course programme. We also look ahead to 2021 with a link to the term dates. Most importantly, however, we wish all our families and whānau a restful and relaxing break over the summer.

Weekly Wrap Up (Term 4, Week 8)

This week we include information for the final week of term and invite you to complete our whānau survey. Roots and Shoots, and Outdoor Education have been off site at Worser Bay. He Kākano took part in the AWD Floor Ball tournament and four teams of Year 9 students took part in the Wellington Junior Science Tournament. Students have been busy in Food Tech preparing for Christmas. In addition we recognise student success through Wellington Trades Academy.

Weekly Wrap Up (Term 4, Week 6)

DVC teacher Rowan Heap has received Best Design Award for his non-verbal illustrated narrative Tokitoki and James Caddell. This week we celebrate his success and share images from his book. We follow Year 10 Art students as they work with Xoë Hall on her mural and join He Kākano at Capital E. We also follow our junior girls volleyball team as they learn how to referee their sport.
