Metlink update – Term 1 2024
Starting 28 January 2024:
- Buses return to full timetables on routes 1, 7, 23, 24, 25, 29, 32.
- Route 18 off-peak frequency increases to every 30 minutes, with additional services scheduled for Wellington High School.
- Morning services leave Karori at 7.46, 8.00 and 8.15 arriving WHS 8.22, 8.36 and 8.49am
- Afternoon services leave WHS at 15.10, 15.28, 15.33 and 15.53
- Extra morning trips for routes 2, 33, 34 boost services for Karori.
- Extra morning trips for route 35 for Hataitai and Mt Victoria.
- New high-frequency route 4 runs between Strathmore Park and Wilton/Mairangi Road, via Newtown, Wellington Regional Hospital, the central city and Te Herenga Waka Victoria University’s Kelburn campus. Route 4 replaces the route 12.
- Route 20 extends to Wellington Station.
- Route 26 peak frequency increases to every 30 minutes for Ngaio and Khandallah.
The bus stop nearest to Wellington High School (stop 7914) for services heading into the city (3, 27, 18) is currently closed. A temporary stop, at the intersection of Rolleston St and Wallace Street, is in place. It is anticipated that the works affecting this stop will be completed by the end of January.
