Ever wondered why a coin spins the way it does or exactly what is the fastest way to empty a bottle? These were just a couple of the problems in this year’s JYPT (Junior Young Physics Tournament) competition in Hobart, Tasmania. JYPT is debating crossed with Physics, so students aren’t just presenting their findings, they are defending them and opposing other teams findings in front of a panel of judges. Once again the WHS JYPT team of Tess Breitenmoser, Luke Porteous, Arlo Heynes and Callum MacRae has had great success, coming in second place in an eight team international tournament.
