What’s happening?
International Students
The International Department welcomed 8 new students from Thailand, Germany, India, Vietnam, Singapore and Japan in Term 2. We had a fun first day showing the new students around the city and the weather performed perfectly! They enjoyed the most glorious views at Mount Victoria, ice creams on the beach at Oriental Bay and a traditional fish and chip lunch at school. We now have a total of 48 students with another 30 arriving in Term 3.
Careers
Careers newsletter
We have had a great response from the list of STAR courses recently advertised in the weekly careers newsletter. It has been wonderful to see students maximising the opportunities and experiences at Whitireia/WelTec.
Completing a STAR course enables students to progress into more advanced options and provides practical skills to find work. The careers team will continue to advertise these courses. To find out more please see Chuni Bhikha, Year 13 Dean/Careers Advisor located next to student services.
